Investing in sustainable agroforestry
Our entry into farming began in 2017 when we came to Bahia Brazil to look at a 400 acre cacao farm overlooking the coast. The beautiful land and forest are situated in some of the last remaining areas of Atlantic rain forest, the most biodiverse region for trees in the world. We purchased the land primarily to preserve it and now we are growing our cacão harvest and making a chocolate brand to make the project financially viable. This is a real challenge, but if we can do it, then we will have truly created a treasure and an example for future generations.

Today, the 120-hectare farm focuses on syntropic farming, producing cacau and other beneficial plants while rejuvenating degraded lands. Key efforts include restoring natural springwater sources, improving soil health, and boosting ecosystem diversity, while providing employment for 32 local families.
The farm borders the Serra do Conduru State Park, part of the Atlantic Coastal Rainforest, and collaborates with the ASAS program through INEMA, serving as a wildlife release point.
Charles's wife, Simone, born in the Pauini National Forest, shares this vision. Together, with their two sons, they aim to live a life rich in nature, fostering a deep connection to the rainforest for future generations. Their mission is to create a sustainable farm that not only produces quality products but also protects, preserves, and rehabilitates the land they are stewards of.
